Quality Outdoor Experiences

Specialist activities at Camp Raukawa are available (see list below). Each activity has a Standard Operating Procedure and is managed through our YMCA Code of Practice for the Outdoors which takes into account applicable industry standards as follows:

  • Ministry of Education; Education Outside The Classroom.
  • Outdoor Activities – Guidelines for Leaders (5th Edition October 2005).

We have recently joined the Outdoors Mark Accreditation scheme, voluntarily opening our safety systems to independent external auditing.

In the event of bad weather, friendly staff at Camp Raukawa will organise alternative programmes to fill time blocks booked with us. It is always a good idea to bring some indoor options (arts and crafts, games, books, etc.) to fill your part of the programme in bad weather.
