The YMCA is the second largest training provider in the Wanganui district after UCOL and has a close relationship with INTRANZ in providing trade orientated courses. The YMCA manages the school working with a General Manager who is charged with the day to day management of the school.

Both the YMCA and General Manager provide support to the two full time tutors who work with the students. The courses have been developed in house and incorporate NZ Certificate in Engineering Level 2 with mentoring and hands on work experience. Local business experts also provide formal mentoring to students throughout the course. The desired goals and outcomes revolve around providing local students with local training in order to take up trades.
